Growing Together in Community
Ways to Connect
Community Life at Church of the Good Shepherd
We gather every Sunday as Church of the Good Shepherd because we believe Sunday morning worship is where Christ most fully meets his people. In our liturgy, we experience the pattern of the gospel week after week: Jesus gathers us as his flock, washes us clean, speaks his Word to us, feeds us at his Table, and then sends us back into our neighborhoods and workplaces as his witnesses.
Each Sunday our service ends with a commissioning: "And now, Father, send us out to do the work you have given us to do, to love and serve you as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord." But discipleship doesn't end at the benediction. Through Table Groups, catechism studies, shared meals, book studies, and the ordinary rhythms of life together, we seek to live Monday through Saturday what we've tasted on Sunday—learning what it means to be a community entirely dependent upon the love of God in Christ Jesus.
During the week we desire the people of Good Shepherd to meet together with intentionality, seeking to put into practice in the world what we experienced in the sanctuary. Here a few specific ways we do that together.
Table Groups
Table Groups (the small group ministry at Good Shepherd) build intentional community through shared tables, meaningful conversation, and prayer.
Post-Service Fellowship & Catechism
After service on Sundays, we gather together as a church for fellowship, a time of Christian education (catechism), and a shared meal. This is a formative time for us — as we seek to grow together in faith, hope, and love.
