Beliefs & Practices
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’”
(John 14:6)
Scripture, Creeds, & Confessions
We Believe…
We are first and foremost a Bible-people. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be God’s Word written, containing all that is necessary for salvation.
We believe that the orthodox Christian creeds (namely the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed) rightly articulate and preserve these biblical truths.
We believe that the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion (a Reformation statement of faith from 1571) contain foundational doctrine of the Church agreeing with God’s Word.
We believe the Jerusalem Declaration (a global Anglican statement) promotes and protects the biblical gospel.
We Are…
Liturgical & Sacramental
We are a church shaped by ancient rhythms of worship — ones that have formed Christians for centuries. We believe that worship involves the whole person: mind, heart, and body. Liturgy isn't mere tradition for its own sake; it's a way of being formed together, week by week, into the image of Christ.
We also believe that liturgy is a form of hospitality. When we worship together using a common order of service, people from every background and walk of life can participate fully — not as spectators, but as the people of God. Anglicans around the world share in what is called the Book of Common Prayer, which is most simply the Bible arranged for worship. It shapes how we pray, how we gather, and how we live.
We hold the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper as central to our life together in Christ. We believe that God — in his grace and nearness — comes to us through ordinary things: water, bread, and wine. In these simple gifts, he offers us forgiveness, nourishment, and new life. And as we receive his grace, we are renewed to see all of creation as a gift from a generous Creator.
We Are…
Communal & Global
Christianity is communal. Jesus did not save isolated individuals, but a church, a community of believers who share burdens and joys together. We seek to live that out week-by-week, day-by-day, as we share life together.
Our communal life is local and global. We are connected as a local church, as a broader region of partnering churches (the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains), as a broader Anglican denomination (the Anglican Church of North America), and a global Anglican movement (the Global Anglican Futures Conference).
We aim to not only live out the good the news of Jesus Christ but also to share it with our family, our friends, and our neighbors. We believe that Jesus is indeed the way, the truth, and the life.
We Are…
Hopeful & Missional
We believe that Jesus is making all things new. We believe that, through Jesus, sin and death are being defeated, what is broken is being restored, and what has become ugly is being beautified.
“And He who was seated on the throne said, ‘‘Behold, I am making all things new!’” (Revelation 21:5)
We acknowledge that the world is broken. Yet we are a people marked by hope, because we follow a King who is restoring all things. We believe that light is breaking into darkness and despair. This process is not always as fast as we’d like it to be, but we do believe it is indeed taking place. And we can see fruit, even in the midst of the brokenness that surrounds us.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5)
We aim to live in light of this good news, being a people marked by hope, fruitfulness, patience, and love—in seasons of hardship and seasons of celebration.
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:56–58)
We desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our family, our friends, our neighbors, and the world. We believe that Jesus is indeed the way, the truth, and the life. We desire for all people to know him, love him, and find joy & peace in Him.
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18–20)
